dmg media announced today that its printing operations in Thurrock and Didcot have received ISO 14001 accreditation, the world’s most recognised environmental standard.
This follows the implementation of an Environment Management System (EMS), which ensures that we meet our environmental commitments and corporate policy requirements.
The system will also allow the two Harmsworth printing to improve the processes used in our business, reduce our environmental liability and increase profitability through energy conservation.
“It took a huge group effort led by head of facilities Steve Anderson to put the new processes in place,” said Julia Palmer-Poucher, group production director.
“However, showing our business partners, regulatory agencies and the local community that we are environmentally responsible is really important to us.”
ISO 14001 is an ongoing process and the sites will be continually monitored in order to retain this accreditation.
