THE Oldham Chronicle relaunches tomorrow, 14 February, as a digital-only title, six months after the 163-year-old regional daily newspaper went into administration.
The new operators, radio station Revolution 96.2 owned by Credible Media, say the new website and social media presence for the title will be known as the Oldham Chronicle Online. Staff at the Oldham-based venture have been marking the countdown to launch day on Facebook and on Twitter.
The newspaper closed at the end of August last year when publishers Hirst, Kidd and Rennie went into administration. In the meantime, other publishers stepped in to fill the news void with Newsquest launching the The Oldham Times, and the Manchester Evening News moved in with an edition specifically covering Oldham.
Credible Media bought the Oldham Chroncile business in October last year.
