Mortons Print, located in Lincolnshire, received the prestigious title of Regional Printer of the Year at the UK ‘newsawards’ 2021, held in London on November 11, 2021.
The judges had the challenging task of identifying consistent and error-free quality across various newspaper publications in a fiercely competitive category. The submissions received were of exceptionally high quality. However, Mortons Print stood out with its diverse entry, which included Cage & Aviary Birds, Driffield & Wold Weekly, The Moorlander, and The Teesdale Mercury. These publications impressed the judges with their outstanding printing quality on various types of paper.
Steve Wickwar, the print director of Mortons Media Group Ltd, the parent company of Mortons Print, expressed his excitement, saying, “I’m thrilled that Mortons Print & Mailing secured the top spot in this prestigious award category. Our team takes pride in delivering consistent quality and maintaining high standards, which is evident in this year’s awards. This achievement was a true team effort, involving everyone from machine engineers to the Pre-Press, Press, Post-Press, Mailing staff, and our managers. Every member of the Mortons Print & Mailing team contributed to this success.”
Furthermore, Cage & Aviary Birds won the title of Niche Market Newspaper of the Year, another remarkable accomplishment for Mortons. This category is always highly competitive, with a wide range of contenders. Judges evaluated production processes and values, as well as how well each publication served its specific market. Judges also commended the publication for its “striking images that were so well produced and printed that some judges thought the birds looked so realistic they might fly off the pages.”
These awards highlight Mortons’ commitment to delivering high-quality print, finishing, and fulfillment services.
