Amid strong demand and good capacity utilisation, newsprint manufacturers managed to get a moderate price increase on the French market, reports EUWID Pulp & Paper.
Just a very few contracts were outstanding in the third week of January, although they were hardly expected to be much different from the agreements concluded to date. Most newsprint contracts will run for six months.
However, since demand for newsprint will continue its decline, it remains to be seen whether supply and demand are still close to balanced in a few months’ time, experts believe.
