DUNDEE-based DC Thomson has rebranded and relaunched its print division. Its facility at Kingsway East is now known as Discovery Print and is tasked with growing the company’s contract print portfolio.
The family-owned and run business goes back 125 years and is famed worldwide for publishingthe much-loved Beano and Dandy titles. The new name reflects the setting of the historic Scottish publisher; Dundee refers to itself as ‘One City, Many Discoveries’ because of its history of scientific activities and of the RRS Discovery, Robert Falcon Scott’s Antarctic exploration vessel, which was built in Dundee and is now berthed in the city harbour.
The launch of DC Thomson’s Discovery Print comes in the wake of the unveiling of the company’s £25 million new press hall last summer, housing the latest compact printing system from Goss alongside an extended Goss Colorliner press line.
