In the May issue of PJ, Caryl Holland takes a look at the latest technology and developments following the Hunkeler Innovation days exhibition in Lucerne that shone the spotlight on digital printing.
‘There are those in the industry who believe that digital printing has arrived too late due to the increasing use of online news,’ she writes.
‘There are others who believe that the technology could have aplace in newspaper publishing but the figures just do not add up.
‘Then there are those – admittedly relatively few, but increasing – who believe that digital printing should be a central part of newspaper publishing because of its ability to handle the shortest of runs.’
